Full Bloom marks a pivotal moment in my practice and is the first of a new series of surrealist figurative portraits. The work emerged from a season of spiritual and creative transformation. Near the end of 2024, God gave me a dream regarding my debut solo exhibition. When the opportunity later arose, I stepped forward in faith, trusting it was divinely ordained.
Throughout 2025, I produced a body of pop-surrealist work for my exhibition Cosmic Beetle. God used this exhibition as an evangelistic tool, opening space for me to share my testimony and the gospel through both the paintings and accompanying written material. While I witnessed the impact on others, it was only later that I understood its personal significance. The exhibition became an expression of my healed inner child in God, a necessary process that allowed me to reach a new maturity in my craft.
Full Bloom represents maturity, an arrival into a tangible exploration of light and the human form.
This body of work draws inspiration from Genesis reflecting on humanity’s creation in God’s image and the responsibility of dominion. Through these portraits my aim is to explore themes of harmony and peace. Evoking a vision of creation before it was marked by sin and nakedness, when the fullness of life being clothed in God's glory and creation was the norm and how we have Jesus to thank for the reconciliation gifted to us.
