The Artist
I'm Rebecca Bresnahan, a visual artist and art teacher based in Melbourne, Australia. Exhibiting both locally and internationally, my practice is informed by a background in tattooing, insect taxidermy, and spiritual roots grounded in Jesus Christ. I work primarily with oil paint on wooden boards, combining surreal symbolism, intricate depictions of insects, and motifs of light with themes of spirituality. Alongside larger figurative works, I also create smaller symbolic paintings that focus on divine creation. Some of these works emerge through prayer, arriving as vivid visions, such as Christ descending from the clouds or angelic forms revealed through flowers. Throughout this practice, I seek to create images that evoke a sense of peace and safety, reflecting our Creator’s love for us and inviting quiet contemplation.
